When you read ‘Hunger’ by Knut Hamsun and then ‘The Invisible Man’ by George Orwell.. it is almost the same book.

Griffin is a total egoistic and so is the unnamed character in Hamsun’s book.

Both take lodging and experience a growing hostility from their host.
In both cases the hostility stems from how they over-estimate themselves and their powers.

In both cases their suffering is self-inflicted.

You could add Raskolnikov to the duo, to make a trio. You could also add Ignatius Reilly.
