I can’t see this public distancing as anything else but a way to put Elon back in the position he had before he got involved in DOGE. It must be made clear that Elon has no ties or involvement with the Trump administration.

It would otherwise be impossible for him to run business. The press would suggest he got sweat deals and special consideration.
